The Friends of Erlestoke Prison was established in 2011 to support offenders with the challenges of resettlement and rehabilitation. We fund projects which:

  • Help offenders face up to the impact of their crimes
  • Help offenders develop skills and behaviours which will help them to find employment
  • Bring fathers closer to their families, especially those with children
  • Improve prisoner health and well-being
  • Raise local awareness about the work of the prison

  • We now support StoryBook Dads in HMP Erlestoke, an initiative which helps parents in prison to record bedtime stories and messages for their children on CDs and DVDs. These are sent to the child and bring comfort to them as they can hear or see their parent whenever they need to. A recent article in Inside Time, the national newspaper for prisoners and detainees, celebrates 20 years of StoryBook Dads: please click here to read the article.
  • Thank you to the National Lottery for funding our Transport Service in 2023!
